Jungle Man is a whimsical and eccentric character, often seen getting stung by bees or swinging chaotically from vine to vine. I aimed to reflect that energy in this scene, with him nearly crashing into the viewer and being pursued by bees, which players will have the chance to swat away during gameplay. One of the main challenges, however, was adapting this experience for Mixed Reality. Traditional visual gags, such as Jungle Man falling off screen, don’t translate effectively in that environment. To address this, we’ve been collaborating with VR Monkey on an alternate sequence that preserves his slapstick charm while working seamlessly within the spatial constraints of MR.

Balancing all the moving parts throughout the process was definitely a challenge, but the vision was always fully formed in my head. I knew exactly what I wanted it to look and feel like. It wasn’t a matter of uncertainty or lack of direction, it was just a matter of giving it the time and space it needed to unfold the right way.
